| FAQ's: How do I get started sponsoring a household? Request a sponsorship form below or fill out the form by clicking here. What specific benefits will the household I sponsor receive? The Household you sponsor will receive opportunities not usually afforded to people in rural Malawi including the following: Household Level Opportunities: Food security Sanitation/energy use Income generation Community Level Opportunities: Health care Education Community-based business ventures Christian outreach Social and physical infrastructures Environmental well-being What information will I receive about the Household I am sponsoring? You will receive a photo of the household along with a brief profile. The profile will include information regarding the makeup of the household (names, ages, date of birth), education status, income generation, sanitation/energy use, food security and environmental well-being. Where do I send my sponsorship commitment money? You may send your check made payable to Giving Heart Ministries, Inc., P.O. Box 32, Silver Lake, WI 53170 or make a donation online by clicking here. Will I receive any updates from my sponsored household? Yes, you will receive progress reports of improvements in the sponsored household and in the community. You may also receive letters from your sponsored household. Can I send letters and visit my sponsored household? All correspondence, gifts and/or visits will be facilitated through Giving Heart Ministries, Inc. and the Zowe Program Office located in Malawi. Please send all letters or correspondence to the Giving Heart Ministries c/o Household Sponsorship Program, P.O. When will my sponsorship end? Your sponsorship can end whenever you deem it necessary (we ask for at least a 2 month notice if possible). We estimate that within three to five years a family will mature out of the sponsorship program, although, in some cases, that time frame might be shorter. |
